Terms & Conditions

Last updated: March 2026

1. Agreement

These terms and conditions ("Terms") constitute a binding agreement between UK Rapid Removals ("we", "us", "our") and the customer ("you", "your") who books our removal or related services. By confirming a booking, you agree to these Terms in full. Please read them carefully before proceeding.

2. Quotations

All quotations are provided based on the information you supply to us — including the volume, nature and quantity of items to be moved, the addresses involved, and any access restrictions. Quotations are valid for 30 days from the date of issue.

Our quotes are fixed-price. The figure stated in your quote is the figure you will pay, provided that the items, circumstances and requirements match what was described at the time the quote was given. If the actual volume or requirements differ materially from what was described (for example, significantly more items than declared, or access issues not previously disclosed), we reserve the right to issue a revised quote before proceeding.

Quotations for European removals include an estimate of customs and ferry/transport costs. These costs may be subject to minor variation based on fuel surcharges or regulatory changes, which we will communicate to you before the move.

3. Bookings and Confirmation

A booking is confirmed when you accept our quote in writing (including email) and, where applicable, pay the required deposit. Upon confirmation, we will allocate a crew, vehicle and time slot for your move.

We will provide a booking confirmation with full details including the date, estimated arrival time, crew information and a summary of services booked.

4. Payment

Payment is due in full prior to or on the day of the move, unless otherwise agreed in writing. We accept bank transfer, credit card, debit card and cash. A deposit may be required at the time of booking to secure your date — the deposit amount will be stated in your quote.

In the event of non-payment, we reserve the right to retain possession of your goods until full payment is received.

5. Cancellation Policy

  • 7+ days before the move date: Full refund of any deposit paid.
  • 3–6 days before the move date: 50% of the deposit will be retained as a cancellation fee.
  • Within 48 hours of the move date: The full deposit is non-refundable.

Cancellations must be made in writing (email to help@ukrapidremovals.co.uk is acceptable). If we need to cancel or reschedule due to circumstances beyond our control (such as severe weather, vehicle breakdown or road closures), we will offer an alternative date at no additional charge or provide a full refund.

6. Access and Parking

You are responsible for ensuring adequate access at both the collection and delivery addresses. This includes:

  • Sufficient parking space for our vehicle as close to the property entrance as possible
  • Any necessary parking permits, suspended bays or resident parking arrangements
  • Clear access routes — hallways, stairwells and doorways should be unobstructed
  • Lift availability in apartment buildings (please notify us in advance if no lift is available)
  • Any gated access, key codes or intercom arrangements

If access is significantly more difficult than described at the time of quoting (for example, an undisclosed fourth-floor walk-up with no lift), we reserve the right to charge an additional fee to cover the extra time and labour required. We will discuss this with you before proceeding.

7. Timing and Delays

We will provide an estimated arrival window for your move. While we make every effort to be punctual, arrival times are estimates and not guarantees. Delays may occur due to traffic, weather, or the previous job running longer than expected.

If a significant delay is anticipated, we will contact you as soon as possible to keep you informed. We are not liable for any consequential losses arising from delays that are beyond our reasonable control.

8. Insurance and Liability

All moves are covered by our comprehensive goods-in-transit insurance. This covers loss of or accidental damage to your belongings while they are in our care, subject to the following conditions:

  • Items packed by our team are covered under our full insurance policy.
  • Items packed by the customer are carried at the customer's risk. We accept no liability for damage to owner-packed items unless the damage was clearly caused by our handling (for example, dropping a sealed box).
  • High-value items (worth more than £500 per item) should be declared at the time of booking so we can arrange appropriate cover. Undeclared high-value items may not be fully covered.
  • We are not liable for damage to items caused by inherent defects, pre-existing damage, or ordinary wear and tear.
  • Our total liability is limited to the replacement value of the item at the time of the move, up to the limit of our insurance policy.

Any damage must be reported to us in writing within 7 days of the delivery date. Claims made after this period may not be covered.

9. Customer Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate and complete information about the items to be moved, including quantity, size and any special handling requirements
  • Ensuring all items are ready for collection at the agreed time (unless you have booked our packing service)
  • Disconnecting and preparing appliances (washing machines, dishwashers, fridges, etc.) for transport
  • Emptying drawers of loose items and personal effects
  • Securing or removing any valuables, medications, passports, cash and irreplaceable personal documents — we recommend keeping these with you personally
  • Informing us of any items that require special care, including antiques, musical instruments, artwork and fragile items
  • Ensuring that the final arrangement and placement of items at the delivery address is directed by you or your representative on the day

10. Prohibited Items

We are unable to transport the following items:

  • Hazardous materials (flammable liquids, gas cylinders, aerosols, chemicals, paint)
  • Firearms, ammunition or explosives
  • Illegal substances
  • Perishable food items
  • Plants (for European moves only — UK domestic moves can include plants)
  • Live animals

If prohibited items are found among your belongings, we reserve the right to refuse to transport them. We will not be held liable for any items left behind as a result.

11. Storage

Where storage services are requested, your belongings will be held in our secure, CCTV-monitored, climate- controlled storage facility. Storage charges will be outlined in your quote and are payable monthly in advance.

You must give us at least 48 hours' notice to retrieve items from storage. We are not liable for loss or damage caused by events beyond our control (such as flood, fire or acts of God), although our facility is fully insured against such events.

12. Force Majeure

We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations where such failure or delay results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to: severe weather, natural disasters, pandemics, government restrictions, road closures, industrial action or vehicle breakdown.

In such events, we will contact you to discuss alternative arrangements or offer a full refund.

13. Complaints

If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of our service, please contact us as soon as possible at help@ukrapidremovals.co.uk or call 0800 111 9090. We take all complaints seriously and aim to resolve them within 14 working days.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. The Terms in effect at the time of your booking will apply to your move.
